Good Architect · Bushwalks
The bush is absolutely lovely, there are times in your life when you just need it to be a bit more level though. Whether you are a new parent and are looking for pram friendly walks or would like to share a walk with someone who needs more accessible paths. These paths are also great walks to take your grandparents on.
If you have small children who are starting to do a bit more walking on their own, you might also want to check out our short walks guide or our level walks link.
We also have a guide to Wildflowers on the Central Coast because there are so many stunning flowers in the bush here.
The path out to the lighthouse is flat and accessible, so you can bring a pram or take your grandparents to visit. There is a cafe and playground for fish and chips at the top. The loop back along the nature trail is easy going, though the stairs down to the beach are not accessible so just turn around at the top if you need to.
The walks
This is a lovely walk with water views and is relatively flat. There are many parks and this is a great one to do as a pram walk or with kids. The whole length is quite long so feel to enter and leave the path wherever you want for shorter walks that don't require a car shuffle.
This is a beautiful little walk, it is dog friendly and has plenty of shade and water views. This is flat and good for beginners and is accessible. There is a great kids park so its good for children as well.
This is a lovely walk with water views and is relatively flat. There are many parks and this is a great one to do as a pram walk or with kids. The whole length is quite long so feel to enter and leave the path wherever you want for shorter walks that don't require a car shuffle. There is a nice lookout halfway along. There are no water refill stations along this track so make sure you bring enough water as it can sometimes be quite exposed.
This is a beautiful little walk, it is dog friendly and has views across the water to Booker Bay. This is quite a shady walk and as it is on the water, its a good option for a hot day. This is flat and good for beginners.
This beautiful short bushwalk is wheelchair and pram accessibly and takes you through the she oaks and mangroves along the waterfront at West Gosford near Adcock Park.
This is one of my favourite short bushwalks on the coast, highly recommend going in the afternoon near sunset in that golden light. This is an accessible short walk so you can take a grandparent or bring a pram. The bush here is beautiful with scribbly gums and wildflowers. The engravings are at their best at dusk.
This is a beautiful walk with a bit of everything: water views, a wetland bushwalk, a formal Japanese garden and you can enjoy the artwork in the gallery or have a coffee at the cafe. The little ones will love the ducks and Koi in the Japanese gardens. Highly recommended for bubs when they are learning to walk because they are very motivated to chase the ducks.
This wal has a great playground that the kids will love and many ducks and other birds along the water. It is also a lovely night time walk as well, you can watch the moon reflected in the water.
This is a beautiful little walk, it is dog friendly and has a little creek playground with flying fox that the kids will love. This is flat and good for beginners, it is accessible and is great for prams too. The best thing about this walk though is that you will most likely see kangaroos. You'll see them on the circuit, on the road to the circuit, near the RFS and even in the playground itself.

A picture book
The Bush Wee is my read aloud picture book for toddlers and preschoolers, about a big bush walk, a very important bush wee and a race back to the car. Its repeating refrain is written for little ones to chant along to.
