A 3km one-way coastal walk from Winney Bay Lookout to Avoca Beach with whale spotting, rock platforms and shell collecting.
This is a great walk for whale spotting in the season, both from the lookout and up close in Winney Bay itself, I have been fortunate enough to see whales flipping their tails only 20m away as well as spotting giant rays in the water.
Winney bay is a great beach for shells as well. The walk has stunning water views. If car shuffling, leave one car at Avoca Beach. Winney Bay lookout where the startpoint is is sometimes also called Captain Cook Lookout. This walk is my favourite part of the 5landswalk which happens in June and has beautiful sculptures along all five beaches as well as other activities.
