What a heritage listing means
If your property is listed, works usually need a Heritage Impact Statement and the council will assess the effect of your proposal on the heritage significance. This does not mean you cannot build, but it does shape what is likely to gain approval. Early advice saves time.
How to find it
- Open the NSW Planning Portal Spatial Viewer.
- Search for your address.
- Turn on the Heritage layer under the planning controls.
- Read whether your lot is a heritage item or within a conservation area.
